Kia's ambition to increase market share with new products lauches continues with the presentation of the new 2012 Kia Rio sub-compact vehicle, which is due to be unvelied officially at the forthcoming Geneva Motor Show in March this year.
The 2012 Kia has a clicker interior design than the current Rio keeping in tune with the rest of the company's passenger vehicle range in the US market. There will be a wider selection of trims that delivers a high level of quality previously associated with larger models from the South-Korean company's stable.
The wheelbase extended by 70 mm (to 2,570 mm) compared to the existing Rio promising to offer improved passenger space together with an increased cargo capacity to 292 liters for the hatchback body style. Exterior dimensions changes include: +55 mm (overall length), -15 mm (height) and +25 mm (overall width).
But the BIGGEST surprise is the announcement of an all-new 1.2-liter Turbo Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) that will be available from 2012, and which will offer the Koreans a significant advantage over its Japanese rivals.
The new Kia is scheduled to go on sale in Europe as a 5-door model this fall, with a 3-door due to be introduced in early 2012. Full details abotu pricing and specs will be announced close to the on-sale date.
Soon-Nam Lee, Director of Overseas Marketing for Kia, commented: “This new model is a big step forward. The Rio has always been successful, and with this new incarnation we have a car that people will want to buy for its looks.”

2011 Kia Optima coming to Wenatchee Kia

Wenatchee Kia is proud to present the all-new 2011 Kia Optima. Marking the third generation of Kia's midsize sedan, the 2011 Optima is longer, lower, wider, and an even more radical redesign than its striking new looks suggest.

Naturally, the Optima returns with more of what you'd expect in a family sedan. Interior space is up for all passengers, while a new, contoured dashboard showcases a design with more flair. More standard features abound, such as a power driver's seat, chilled glovebox, and a stereo with Aux & USB jacks and SIRIUS radio, while higher-end models add niceties like hands-free entertainment and communications, rear-view camera, and push-button starting with SmartKey.

But the real revolution is under the hood, where you'll find a new 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine with GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection) pumping out an astounding 200 horsepower -- a class-leading number guaranteeing the Optima can leave any 4-cylinder competitor in the dust. This feat comes at no expense of fuel economy, which is rated by the EPA at a frugal 24 MPG city, 35 highway.

Anyone craving even more explosive power can choose the new turbocharged, 2.0-liter version of this engine, which sends horsepower soaring to 274. Unlike the more common performance solution of using a giant V6, the Optima's turbo design enables the possibility of having both great power and great mileage. And to add even more variety, those with a preference for pure mileage will find their dream car in the Hybrid version, due in mid-2011. Kia Optima: the sedan with something special for everyone.

As before, the Optima comes in three trim lines -- LX, upscale EX, and sporty SX, with the latter featuring HID headlights, a unique grille and spoiler, and menacing black 18-inch wheels. WENATCHEE, Wash. -They say that Jeremy Anders, front office employee of the Wenatchee Wild, will do anything to make a sale. Now he has to make the toughest sale of his life. With opening night just four days away, Wenatchee Wild President & Managing Partner Bill Stewart has given Anders an ultimatum: Sell out opening night or be fired!

"Jeremy was telling me the other day how much he likes The Apprentice," Stewart said. "And I told him, 'that's so funny, Jeremy, because if you don't sell out opening night, you're the one that's gonna get fired!'"

With good tickets still available for Friday's home opener against the Kenai River Brown Bears, Anders had to do something drastic to keep his job. His plan: Starting tomorrow at 7 a.m., he will live at the Town Toyota Center and sleep on the balcony of the TTC until he sells every single ticket to the opener. Tickets can also be purchased directly from Anders at the Town Toyota Center at any time throughout the week beginning tomorrow morning. "My job is on the line here, I have no choice," said a manic Anders, who was in the process of making a small shelter for himself on the balcony of the Town Toyota Center. "I'll be living at the TTC all week until I sell every single ticket for the opener. I'll eat here, sleep here, and I sure hope I sell a lot of tickets."

There are several special perks for fans to enjoy at Friday's home opener, which will begin at 7:05 p.m. The first 4,000 fans attending will receive a free magnet schedule, and everyone will enjoy the full introduction of this year's team and the unveiling of the 2009-10 West Division Championship banner. Pyrotechnics will also be part of the opening ceremonies.

Tickets are also still available for Saturday's game against the Brown Bears, which will also begin at 7:05 p.m. The first 2,000 fans attending Saturday's game will receive a free team hat.
